Our experience

Thao

Thao built a career in the arts as a professional dancer, teacher and chorographer. As founder and artistic director of Compagnie NEWA, she combined creating performances with coaching performers. With over 30 years of experience in movement and yoga – including studies with Anthony “Prem” Carlisi in Sri Lanka and training as an Ayurvedic Technician – she bridges bodywork, welness and Human Design. Today, she guides others in their personal and professional growth, helping them reconnect with their own rhythm and energy.

David

With a background in acrobatic gymnastics and a Master’s degree in Sports Sciences, David’s path naturally evolved into movement and performance. As a former elite athlete with the national acrobatic gymnastics team, he later expanded his work as an acrobat and aerial performer. Within Compagnie NEWA, he worked as an artist, technical performance coach and creative consultant. Over the past 30 years, he has deepened his practice in Qigong and the I Ching, and completed a three-year Shiatsu training. At DDAO, he brings these paths together in Human Design and body-based therapy – guiding others to find balance, clarity and direction.

Our story

5/1 Emotional Manifesting Generator

Movement has always been my language. As a child, I learned that taking action was key, hard work was my strength. I did everything by the book, ate healthily, exercised frequently, and was full of initiative and energy. Movement allowed me to feel, create, and express myself. Until, during my pregnancy and time of loss, i reached a point where
everything stalled. I retreated inward, stopped taking care of myself, and my energy and resilience were gone.
I lived in a kind of haze, lost touch with my body. And COVID made me isolate myself even more, but also retreat further inward.
And right there the fire started burning again, with one question: If this is life, is this how I want to live it? That question sparked a quest in which I tried everything.
Until I discovered Human Design. It showed me what I had lost along the way, gave me new direction and confidence to follow my own path and brought me back to my first love: movement.
By experiencing this myself and sharing it, I hope to help you find your path and, above all, to help you feel: “I am here and how wonderful is that.”
You are very welcome, love Thao.

2/4 Emotional Generator

Early on, i was given a sense of freedom. My parents raised me following the Summerhill approach, teaching me to make my own choices and follow my feelings – even when they don’t  always align with societal expectations. Now, as a father myself, i truly appreciate how valuable that space was.
I try to give that same freedom to our children – one of the most rewarding and beautiful challenges of parenthood.
Health and wawareness were woven into my upbringing. My parents explored yoga, astrology and Kabbalah, grew their own vegetables and herbs, and made oils and kombucha. For me, it was simply the way life worked – a lifestyle connecting body, mind and nature. Aspects of yoga were part of my daily routine from a young age, guided by my father’s teachings in posture and breath.
My journey naturally led me to sports and movement. Besides earning a Master’s in Physical Education, i pursued acrobatic gymnastics and later performance, discovering firsthand the powerful interplay between physical strength, mental focus and inner balance. This curiosity carried me further into the I Ching, yoga, Qigong, Taoism and a three year Shiatsu training.
Human Design brought all the pieces together. It offered not just a system, but a foundation. My design shows why family is so deeply rooted in me, why i flourish when i let life flow  naturally, and why my strength lies in stability and support. It feels like the circle is complete – a way to honor my parents legacy while following my own path. Today, together with Thao, i bring this into DDAO – as both a foundation and an invitation for others to walk their own path.
